How to Wicketkeep

Wicketkeeping is a fine art and something that takes years to master. Len Kenyon is considered our best ever wicketkeeper/batsman and put his thoughts and techniques to paper a few years ago.

Who was Len Kenyon and was he any good? Here’s his bio: Len played 267 games making an incredible 22 centuries on his way to 10,000 runs at an average of 33.8. He was A-grade player of the year every year but one from 1946 to 1964. He was also a great clubman being named Clubman of the year; life member and patron as well as being active around the club until very recently. Sadly, Len passed away in May 2013.

Here’s a PDF on what he considered to be proper technique when keeping wickets.
